HKLC Mentoring Program

We all have valuable things to share with the next generation of librarians, and we owe it to them to help them grow and flourish in the profession
Meredith Farkas

Hong Kong Libraries Connect (HKLC) is a grassroots effort to facilitate discourse about librarianship. The HKLC mentoring programme intends to make a significant contribution to this goal, with a particular focus on fostering meaningful professional dialogue between experienced and novice librarians.  We are modelling our efforts on successful mentoring initiatives run by librarians around the world, with the following objectives in mind:

  • To provide semi-structured opportunities for professionals from different library sectors to engage in dialogue
  • To foster relationships between experienced librarians and those new to the field for the benefit and professional development of both groups
  • To better prepare those new to the field for employment in libraries

Please visit the Mentor FAQ or Mentee FAQ pages for information about participating.
